Some traditions are passed down around the kitchen table. Others are passed down on the water.

For David Clements, captain of Dustin’s Dream, lobster fishing has always been about family.

David has been fishing since he was young, learning the trade alongside his father before becoming captain in 2004.
Today, he fishes alongside his sons, Kristen, Joshua and Isaac, passing along the same lessons that were once passed down to him.

For David, that also means passing on responsibility for caring for the resource. Strong conservation practices help ensure healthy lobster populations, supporting Island families, businesses and communities for generations to come.
